Launching Dirora: Our Public Beta is Here

Dirora Team24 March 20268 min read

Today marks a major milestone for Dirora. After months of intense development, private alpha testing, and countless iterations, we're officially opening our doors to the public. This isn't a stripped-down teaser or a waitlist — it's the full platform, ready to run real stores. Here's the story of how we got here, exactly what you get on day one, and where we're going next.

Why we built Dirora

The commerce platform market isn't short of options, so why build another one? Because we kept hitting the same frustrations that merchants and developers everywhere run into:

  • Rigid templates that look great in a demo but fight you the moment you try to make them your own.

  • Slow, bloated backends that struggle under traffic spikes — exactly when a sale or a viral moment means you need them most.

  • Fees stacked on fees. A monthly subscription, then an extra cut of every single sale on top of what the payment processor already takes, then paid apps to unlock the basics.

  • Free plans that aren't really free — crippled until they're useless, or quietly clawing back a percentage of your revenue.

We wanted a platform with the creative freedom of a custom build, the reliability of serious infrastructure, and the simplicity of a hosted solution — priced so that starting out costs nothing and growing doesn't get punished. That's the store we set out to build, and it's the one the public beta opens up today.

Pricing you can actually reason about

Let's get the money conversation out of the way first, because it's where most "which platform?" decisions are really made. Dirora charges 0% transaction fees on every plan. We don't take a slice of each sale for the privilege of using our checkout — you pay your payment processor's standard rate and that's it.

The only cut Dirora takes is a small platform fee, and it falls as you grow: 1.5% on the free Starter plan, 0.75% on Pro, 0.25% on Business, and 0% on Enterprise. The bigger your store gets, the less we take — the opposite of the usual model. There are four plans:

  • Starter — £0/month. A genuinely free plan: up to 50 products, one staff account, and 2GB of storage. Enough to launch a real store, not a demo.

  • Pro — £19/month. For growing stores that want more room, lower platform fees, and priority support.

  • Business — £59/month. For established merchants pushing serious volume, with the platform fee down to 0.25%.

  • Enterprise — £299/month. Full scale, 0% platform fee, and the highest support tier.

You can see the full breakdown on our pricing page, and if you're weighing us against other tools, our comparison page lays out the fee and feature differences honestly. On thin retail margins, the difference between "small platform fee that shrinks" and "percentage of every order forever" is not a rounding error — it's often most of your profit.

What's included in the beta

The public beta is the full platform. Here's what you can build with from the moment you sign up.

A visual theme editor built for real design

At the heart of Dirora is the Visual Theme Editor: drag-and-drop building, a live preview that updates as you work, and full undo/redo history so you can experiment without fear. It sits on top of our Layout Engine and a library of 41 storefront widgets — from hero banners and product grids to countdown timers and testimonial blocks — so you can assemble the store you have in your head without touching code. When you do want to go deeper, the tools are there.

Products, from simple to subscriptions

Manage physical and digital products with variants, options, categories, and collections, plus real-time inventory tracking. Beyond one-off sales, the beta ships with Digital Gift Cards, Recurring Subscriptions for turning one-time buyers into repeat revenue, and Product Reviews & Ratings to build trust on your listings. Already selling elsewhere? Our product CSV importer brings catalogues across from Shopify, Etsy, Big Cartel, Gumroad, and Sellfy, so migrating doesn't mean starting from scratch.

Payments and checkout, configurable from day one

Checkout is powered by Stripe, so you can take cards at standard rates with no Dirora markup, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, and buy-now-pay-later via Klarna and Clearpay — all configurable from your first day. PayPal is available too, and payouts typically land in two to seven days. It's PCI-compliant and supports 3D Secure out of the box, so the trust and security work is handled for you.

Built to sell internationally

International commerce is a first-class citizen, not an afterthought. The beta includes Multi-Currency and Multi-Language support, so shoppers see prices and pages in their own currency and language. Our One-Click AI Translation takes the pain out of localising your catalogue, and built-in Tax Configuration and Shipping Management help you get VAT, duties, and delivery right across borders.

Found on search, ready to grow

Traffic you don't have to pay for is the most valuable kind, so Dirora ships with a proper SEO toolkit: editable meta tags, structured data and schema markup, Google Merchant and sitemap sync, and a 301 redirect manager to protect your rankings when URLs change. On the marketing side you get Smart Email Campaigns and newsletters, abandoned-cart recovery, a Multi-Tier Referral System for loyalty and word-of-mouth, and Real-Time Analytics so you can see what's actually working.

Your domain, your brand

You can connect a domain you already own or register a new one directly through Dirora, with automatic SSL on every store so the padlock is handled for you. Our custom domains guide walks through the options, and there's a growing set of integrations to connect the other tools your business relies on.

The technology behind Dirora

Under the hood, Dirora is API-first and built on more than 40 Go microservices — each one owning a single domain and its own data for clean isolation, and each independently deployable. That high-performance Go backend is paired with server-side rendered storefronts for fast first loads and search-friendly pages, and images are optimised automatically so you're not shipping bloated pages to shoppers on their phones. Assets live in private, S3-compatible storage. The upshot for you: a storefront that stays quick as your catalogue and traffic grow, without you having to think about any of it. If you want the fuller picture, our architecture write-up goes behind the scenes.

Built for developers, not just merchants

Because Dirora is API-first, every capability you see in the dashboard is backed by a public REST API — so you can build custom integrations, internal tools, mobile apps, or fully headless storefronts on top of the same platform your store runs on. Alongside the API there are provider-neutral webhooks that notify your systems the moment something happens (an order is paid, stock runs low, a subscription renews), a CLI for scripting and automation, and the Visual Theme Editor itself as a first-class developer surface. Whether you want to click your store together or wire it into a wider stack, the platform meets you where you are.

What's coming next

The beta is a starting line, not a finish line. Here's what's on the roadmap:

  • Theme marketplace: a curated library of professionally designed themes you can install and make your own in a click.

  • App ecosystem: third-party apps and deeper integrations to extend what your store can do.

  • Advanced analytics: cohort analysis, customer lifetime value, and forward-looking insights on top of today's real-time dashboard.

  • Partner programme: a way for agencies, developers, and creators to earn by bringing merchants to Dirora — you can register interest on our partners page.

We're building in the open, and beta feedback shapes what we prioritise. If you're brand new, the getting started guide takes you from empty account to live store, and you can browse everything the platform does on the features page.
